Two-Year-Olds and Cheltenham: Jack Jones
Newmarket’s list of young trainers is in a healthy state, but the National Hunt roster is lacking somewhat. One trainer who satisfies both criteria is Jack Jones.
The dual-purpose youngster is operating at a healthy level under both codes, with an unrivalled strike-rate with his jumpers and a lofty target on the cards next week.
Jones has struck with six of his 11 runners over jumps this campaign for a 55 per cent success rate and is gunning for a hat trick in Cheltenham’s Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle next week, having won the 2023 renewal in his own right with stable star An Bradan Feasa (Camelot) and shared the spoils in a dead heat 12 months ago, when brothers Sean and James Bowen could not be split, the former riding Teriferma (Territories) for Jones.
